MDC-T and CSOs panic

and even divinations from seers like TB Joshua, pointed to a looming and dismal MDC-T electoral defeat.

The western-backed party and its foot soldiers in the CSOs are in a frantic bid to turn the tables by means of Machiavellian strategies.

There was a hubbub in the media last week over the confiscation of illegal communication devices by our meticulous police.

The seized Elton Micro link radios that were distributed to the rural folk by MDC-T and some CSOs were meant to promote hate speech ahead of the harmonised elections.

Some media had screaming headlines such as “Civil society under threat from Zanu-PF”.
These activists, who masquerade as journalists, must be schooled that Zanu-PF and ZRP are two different and independent entities.

ZRP does not report to Zanu-PF, neither does it take orders from same.
The journalist who crafted that misleading headline impishly attempted to link Zanu-PF to the recent clean up of errant CSOs with a view to discrediting the revolutionary party that has been preaching and walking the gospel of peace.

ZRP is under the stewardship of two ministers, one of whom, Theresa Makone, is a senior member of MDC-T.

She is in a better position to explain the police actions than Zanu-PF.
For that reason, it could have made more sense if the journalist had associated Theresa Makone to the police action.

In any case, the diligent police deserve a pat on the back as their raids were spot on.
Such assiduousness averted a possible political catastrophe.

One does not need to be clever to know that these multi-band radios were not meant to receive signals from the local broadcasting media.

Besides promoting hate speech, the radios were to be used to magnify false alarm of political violence and were even going to be used for parallel announcements of false election results.

Such actions would cause political turmoil in the country. All peace-loving Zimbabweans should be grateful to the police for seizing the radios.

The MDC-T/CSO alliance’s recent reaction to the death of the 12 year old Headlands boy was quite instructive.

MDC-T and its allied CSOs rushed to finger Zanu-PF in the mishap when the police were still investigating.

In addition to this incident, MDC-T and the CSOs were concocting and compiling fake cases of political violence to be used to discredit Zanu-PF.

One of the outstanding issues in the Global Political Agreement are the pirate radio stations.
MDC-T was mandated to encourage pirate radio stations to stop their operations.

However, MDC-T exposed its insincerity by distributing and supporting the distribution of the multiband radios which are meant to receive signals from the pirate radio stations such as Studio 7, Voice Of the People, SW Radio Africa and many others.

Ironically, MDC-T and the CSOs have been vocally demanding the total fulfilment of the GPA tenets.
Jameson Timba even promised to defy the police order. He said he would continue to distribute the radios and his colleagues such as Theresa Makone and Nelson Chamisa also rubbished the radio ban.

The intended recipients of the illegal communication devices should be cautious in dealing with MDC-T.

The party is known for using people for political expediency and ditches them immediately after its selfish interests are accomplished.

Those who are accused of murdering the police inspector can testify to this. They are accusing the MDC-T leadership of neglecting them.

MDC-T and its allied CSOs are accusing the police of attempting to muzzle the free flow of information to the electorate.

One wonders whether the provision of radios is the immediate need of the rural folk, most of whom are living under sanctions-induced abject penury.

Giving the poor electorate radios is tantamount to a Biblical father who, after his child asks for a fish, gives him a snake. The electorate has more pressing needs than a radio. They need food, agricultural inputs, drugs in the clinics and better infrastructure among other primary needs.

For a whole party and the NGOs to source radios for these people is dreadfully suspicious.
The CSOs are employing any dirty tactic to cause political chaos that would continue to justify their existence in Zimbabwe.

The benefactors of the CSOs should be wiser by now to see through the machinations of these organisations that are meant to eternally milk them.

There is now a fresh dimension to the voter registration fraud which caused the arrest of Okay Machisa and his colleagues at ZimRights. Insiders revealed that the fake voter registration certificates which were filled at ZimRights offices were meant to kill two birds at the same time.

Apart from their intention to discredit Zanu-PF’s looming victory, ZimRights also wanted to get funds from the US embassy which had pledged some funds for the CSOs which would recruit new voters.
