MDC-T councillor’s case postponed

Kazuru’s defence counsel applied for the postponement of the case since he had been attending another case at the High Court.
Kazuru appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Olivia Mariga.
He denied the charges and was remanded in custody to August 2 for trial.
Prosecutor Mr Henry Muringani told the court that on July 5 at Paramount Nite Club (Chikwanha) in Chitungwiza, Kazuru was with his brother when he met Tapiwa Chodokufa (32), a patron, on the doorway going to buy some airtime.
The court heard that Kazuru blocked Chodokufa from going outside and accused him of being part of a gang that assaulted him before.
He went on to harass Chodokufa and hit him in the face with an unknown object.
Chodokufa sustained a deep cut on the forehead and Kazuru allegedly took US$180 from him.
