THERE is a fine line between bravery and stupidity.
Well, 42-year-old Xolani Ndlovu from Emganwini, Bulawayo, appears to have confused the Zimbabwean justice system with a suggestion box. After being handed a prison sentence in 2024, most normal human beings would use their time behind bars to reflect, repent and learn to be civil.
Not Xolani. He seems to have used his time behind bars to plot a sequel.
Here is the irony.
On April 18, 2026 — Independence Day — a day when Zimbabweans celebrate freedom and liberation, our hero went to Caravan Shops in Cowdray Park and confronted the very magistrate who sent him to prison, Joshua Nembaware.
Let us pause to appreciate the geometry of this foolishness. Most ex-convicts try to avoid the people who put them away.
But Xolani walked up to Nembaware and confronted him. He went further and threatened to do a number on him.
And this was a man with a criminal record who had just been released from prison.
You simply cannot get stupider.
For his loud mouth, Xolani was arrested and hauled before the court again.
Magistrate Bethel Negato promptly sentenced him to two months in prison. However, one month was suspended for five years.
We can only hope that this time he will use his time in that cold cell to reflect on his actions.
Indeed, bravery can sometimes be stupidity.
