THEY are bracing for a mega party in Zvishavane tomorrow.
FC Platinum will be handed the Castle Lager Premiership trophy after their match against Cranborne Bullets at Mandava.
The dominant Zvishavane side have secured the Premiership title for the fourth time on the trot.
FC Platinum have dominated the Castle Lager Premiership for the past three seasons.
And, once again, the champions have shown remarkable consistency despite a sluggish start caused by a player exodus.
Their squad was regularly rotated throughout the season in what was termed a rebuilding exercise.
They survived a scare in the first round of fixtures but, like true champions, they weathered the storm to retain the title.
And coach Norman Mapeza’s ambitious mindset has been the driving force behind the club’s success.
Mapeza said he always believed his boys were destined for greatness, despite being written off earlier in the campaign.
“I want to urge our fans from all corners of the country to come in their numbers to help us celebrate this milestone.
“It’s been a rough patch for us, but the boys did exceptionally well to soldier on even when many had counted us out.
“I was never moved by what was going on as I had faith in what was on the table.
“I’m happy for the boys for accomplishing what was thought to be impossible,” said Mapeza.
He said they were keen to finish the season on a high note.
“We are not done yet, we are playing this match for the fans and we are going to leave no stone unturned in fighting for maximum points.
“We want to finish the season with a win and the boys know what is expected of them.”
The miners are enjoying a 19-game unbeaten run and want to make it 20 tomorrow.
They only lost to Herentals, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Bulawayo Chiefs in this campaign.
Man-of-the-moment, Walter Musona, shouldered the scoring burden for the champions, on 13 goals.
Musona is three goals behind CAPS United’s William Manondo.
