AFRICA Revenge star Mehluli “Taz” Moyo tied the knot in style when he wedded his fiancée, Farai Mapupu, last week in Harare. The two lovebirds have been dating since last year and exchanged vows at a small intimate colourful wedding attended by Selmor and Tendai Manatsa.
Soul singer Squash was MC while the Africa Revenge Band provided entertainment with DJ Jabu on the decks.
Taz’s longtime partner in the music industry, Willis Wataffi, was unable to attend the wedding.
“We have been dating since 2014 and I was just doing my thing showing affection to the woman that I love.
“Most of my friends attended the wedding although my longtime music partner, Willis Wataffi could not attend as he was out of the country for a show,” Taz said.
Wataffi took to his Facebook page to congratulate the couple: “Just to express my gratitude to you all for remembering me on my birthday and to say congrats to my brother Ta Mehluli Moyo. I couldn’t make it but you know my heart was with you.”
Although it was expected that he would sing at his wedding for his fiancée, Taz said he did not sing.
He said they were set to go for a honeymoon although he did not disclose where they would spend it.
“I can’t reveal to you where we will have our honeymoon, but it will definitely be a romantic place,” Taz said.
Taz rose to stardom as one of the founding members of Africa Revenge, a ground breaking Afro-Fusion group that made a household name during the turn of the millennium. The duo entered the Zimbabwean music scene in 1998 when they released their debut album, Africa Revenge presents Qaya music.
They are known for popular tracks Wanga, Anochengeta and Maweni.
