Meikles complies with ZSE directive

Meikles Limited complied with the directive from the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange to address concerns raised mainly around the balances held by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

The ZSE had requested Meikles to submit a copy of the agreement on the amount owed by the RBZ. They had also asked the group to respond to the submissions made by the RBZ on the amount owed and to issue a statement on the financial effects and any litigation issues on the debt which could have a material impact on the 2014 financial results.

Meikles said it had complied with the Monday (March 2) deadline even after filing a $50 million lawsuit against the ZSE last Friday.

They are, however, yet to get a response.

Comment was sought from ZSE chief executive Mr Alban Chirume, who was said to be in a meeting by the time of going to print. His mobile phone went unanswered.
