ZIM Events hosted a social football men’s conference at Hellenics Sports Club on Saturday.
Several social football teams took part in the event which was aimed at promoting men’s health and creating a platform for them to network and socialise while playing football.
The conference organiser, Bernard Chambati, said they were delighted that the event returned after being stifled by the Covid-19 lockdowns from 2020.
“The year has been a long one and we thought it befitting to have a men’s conference and celebrate with a social football tournament,” said Chambati.
“This is an annual event hosted by Zim Events.
“The last event was in 2019 at GMB Sports Club with 16 teams participating in the tournament.
“It was postponed for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We have found that suicidal cases involving men have increased.
“So, we believe conferences like these will give men the platform to open up and share their challenges with others,” he said.
