AFRI-REMEDY Arts for Development Trust is set host a festival on mental health for artists in June.
The two-day festival aims to explore the transformative power in arts in promoting mental, emotional and physical wellness.
It is set to bring together artists, healthcare professionals, researchers, students and policy makers to engage in conversations that foster collaboration that can positively impact individuals and community health.
In an interview, cordinator of the event, Ashley Jim, said the event is a platform to explore the intersection between creativity and health conditions of artists.
“It is a culmination of one of our projects in play theatre which focuses on how applied arts methodologies can be used for awareness and advocacy on mental health as well as managing chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
“It is a platform for pioneers in the arts industry to exchange ideas and explore vast potential that lies at the intersection of creativity and health conditions,” said Ashley.
