appreciate the role of customers in business growth and sustainability.
It is derived from the International Customer Service Week celebrations which were started by the International Customer Service Association in 1988.
Since its inception in 1988, this event has become a global week with over 60 countries taking part in the celebrations. National Customer Service Week is devoted to recognising the importance of customer service and honouring employees and businesses responsible for taking care of their customers while raising the standards of customer service across Zimbabwe.
This can be achieved through customer service awareness campaigns across the country, education and sharing of global best practices to remind organisations of their commitment to customers in order to raise the standards of customer service in Zimbabwe.
The National Customer Service Week serves as a platform for businesses to appreciate loyal customers as well as developing and fostering a culture of service excellence within the country at a time where our tourism ministry is at an intensive marketing drive to promote our country as a preferred global tourist destination.
I am glad that the Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe, Ministry of Tourism and Consumer Council of Zimbabwe has taken this initiative in ensuring that Zimbabwean companies also celebrate this event with the rest of the world. The association aims to develop the contact centre industry, promote investment into Zimbabwe’s call centre industry and upholding of customer service standards and values.
It is remarkable that the corporates with whom call centre centres are vital are here present.
Let today be the building block for our future relationship. May God be with us all as we strive for excellent service delivery and call centre industry growth.
I thank you all.
