MOST parts of the country should expect a dry Christmas with the weather conducive for outdoor events including weddings, the Meteorological Service Department (MSD) has said.

Over the past few days, most parts of the country have been experiencing rain.

While rains are important for farmers and other players in the agriculture sector, for party lovers and those planning outdoor events, it is disruptive.

A lot of people have been concerned about the weather outlook considering their planned festivities.

MSD has assured those planning outdoor events that they will not be disturbed by the weather patterns during the long weekend.

In a statement, MSD said the weather conditions are favourable for those planning outdoor events.

“Good news for those planning outdoor events this Christmas weekend, the rainfall is diminishing as the day approaches,” read MSD statement.

In yesterday’s daily weather update, MSD said cloudy conditions that may be experienced will not translate into rain, particularly in the southern parts of the country.

“Partly cloudy conditions periods are expected in the morning Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, southern parts of Midlands, Masvingo and southern parts of Manicaland provinces. However, cloudiness should decrease to mostly sunny and warm by afternoon. Matabeleland North should be mild and mostly sunny in the morning and hot in the afternoon,” reads the statement.

“Temperature fluctuations may affect the health of vulnerable members of the society. Sunny weather is best for weddings and other outdoor activities. Ensure that the vulnerable members of the society are kept warm, especially towards evening.–@NomqheleC
