METHODIST CARETAKER APPROACHES LABOUR COURT DEMANDING US$54k

Mangaliso Kabulika

A BUDIriRO 4 Methodist Church caretaker has approached the Labour Court for assistance claiming he was not paid his salary for 15 years.

Makomborero Musiiwa is demanding US$54 000 in compensation.

He claims the church tricked him into signing a document that changed his designation from caretaker to ordinary member so that he would not be paid.

He was evicted from the church premises on November 22.

He claims the church authorities suddenly cancelled his lease agreement.

“I went to the Ministry of Labour and told them my story.

“They gave me this copy to go and give the church authorities to sign and they put the church stamp to show that they received the summon,” said Musiiwa.

The hearing is set for today.
