Bulawayo’s entertainment scene has a new name making waves: Metty Intomb’emfitshane. Born Methembe Ncube, she is a multifaceted talent, content creator, actress, MC, dancer, comedian and rising DJ, quickly carving out a space for herself in the city’s arts and entertainment circles.

As a dancer, Metty has already achieved notable recognition, winning the Outstanding Female Dancer award at the Pumula Royal Arts Community Awards (Praca). She also wowed audiences with her dancing skills on the sidelines of Sandra Ndebele’s Denim on Pearls event earlier this year.

Her skills as an MC have also been turning heads. The former Keyona TV presenter has become a sought-after host, landing gigs with high-profile acts. Last Friday, she was one of the MCs at the inaugural Chivas Festival, an event headlined by South African superstar DJ Tira, in Filabusi. She is set to return to the Bulawayo Shutdown stage this Saturday as an MC alongside DJ Mzoe, with whom she previously hosted the event in April. The two, both high-energy dancers, complement each other perfectly, which likely explains their frequent stage pairing.

Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub caught up with Metty to learn more about her journey. Below is the interview.

Q. Please tell us more about yourself.

A. My name is Methembe B Ncube. Metty comes from my full name, and Intombi Emfitshane is a name given to me by the late Cont Mhlanga during my time as a Keyona TV presenter. I was the shortest in the crew, so he gave me that name. I am a brand promoter, radio and TV presenter, host, solo dancer, content creator, theatre actress and I’m slowly venturing into being a DJ.

Q. How did you venture into the arts?

A. I discovered this passion while studying arts at school in East London. There was a subject called Creative Arts, which really helped groom my talent and passion.

Q. Who or what inspires your craft as an MC and influencer?

A. Honestly, no one inspires me directly. I try not to look up to anyone, so I don’t end up copying or imitating their craft.

Q. Which has been your most interesting event as an MC?

A. I’ve emceed events in Bulawayo, Harare and Filabusi, but the most exciting has been the Bulawayo Shutdown. People from different countries and cities attend, which opens doors for more bookings.

Q. What can attendees expect from your upcoming Bulawayo Shutdown performance?

A. They should expect nothing but fire. I never disappoint. I make sure people are entertained and emotionally engaged. If they’re not screaming, they should be moved. I’ll also be introducing a new era through my outfits, which will carry a message.

Q. How do you balance your personal life, work and growing brand?

A. Balancing it all has been challenging, which is why I’ve looked for a personal assistant and am working on getting a manager.

Q. What has been the biggest challenge in your career, and how have you overcome it?

A. As a content creator, the biggest challenge has been dealing with bullying, body shaming and fake accounts on social media. I’ve learnt to navigate it, accepting that people will always have opinions. I also take legal action when it becomes serious.

Q. What can fans look forward to in 2026?

A. I’m rebranding. Fans should also expect higher-quality videos and an overall upgrade in my content presentation.
