Mexican guitarist Szymanski returns to Harare

and Bulawayo over the ensuing years, he has been back in the country this year to take part in the Bulawayo Music Festival and will perform for Celebs in Harare on Sunday.

Szymanski was born in Mexico City in 1979
and later studied at the Royal College of
Music in London and at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam, graduating with first class honours in 2004.

He became the first guitar soloist to be selected by Britain’s prestigious Young Concert Artists Trust and has won a number of classical music prizes at competitions and festivals.
He has performed at recitals in Europe and North America and visited Zimbabwe for the first time in 2006, when he was warmly received in both Harare and Bulawayo.

He has also recorded several albums, available internationally on CD.
At this year’s Harare concert he will perform works by Fernando Sor, Manuel M Ponce, Julio Cesar Oliva, Francisco Tarrega, Miguel Llobet and Isaac Albeniz.

The Celebs concert will take place at 4pm on Sunday at the Harare International School Theatre, with advance bookings available at The Spotlight booking office in the Reps Theatre foyer.
