The report, best known for its annual Hurun China Rich List, released the Hurun Global Rich List 2013, ranking the 1,453 US dollar billionaires currently in the world.

The Zara Founder Amancio Ortega, from Spain, makes the top three with US$55 billion of wealth. Bill Gates slips out of the top three to fourth with US$54 billion, according to the report.

Li Ka-shing (85), from Hong Kong, is the richest man in China with US$32 billion.
Asia leads other continents with 608 billionaires, followed by North America’s 440 and Europe’s 324. The United States and China dominate with 408 and 317 billionaires respectively, followed by Russia, Germany and India, it said.

Moscow is the billionaire capital of the world with 76 billionaires on the list, followed by New York’s 70, Hong Kong’s 54 and Beijing’s 41, according to the report.

Real estate, technology, media and telecommunications, investments and retail are the most common sources of wealth, it said.
Seven of the top 10 real estate tycoons in the world live in China, according to the report.

China has one more billionaire listed on its stock exchanges than the United States, with 212 individuals compared with 211 listed in the United States. The Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges have witnessed huge expansion in the past decade, it said.
The average age of the billionaires on the list is 63. One in 10 is female, it said. – Xinhua.
