THE Vote of No Confidence on Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe suffered a still birth at the club’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held at the team’s clubhouse yesterday.
A total of 138 Bosso paid-up members attended the meeting partly set for that agenda.
To the opposite, the petition was never revisited or raised. The originator Pilate Mahlangu did not raise the issue.
The meeting was expected to define the club’s immediate future, with chairman Mhlophe and treasurer Nkani Khoza presenting crucial reports to the members.
“We are happy that everything went on well, it was fruitful meeting that gave everyone a chance to air their views as we seek to move forward,” said Mhlophe. The meeting came at a time Bosso have been struggling both on and off the pitch.
“The first team started the season with Kelvin Kaindu as head coach, with Try Ncube and Agent Sawu as first and second assistants respectively.
However, after 17 games, the team’s record of five wins, eight draws and four losses was deemed unsatisfactory and not aligned to the club goals and ambition,” said Mhlophe.
He added: “It was a difficult decision to part ways with Kaindu, the club has since identified a replacement in Hendrikus Peter De Jongh who is expected to take over until the end of the season pending the finalisation of his work permit, a process expedited to take a miminum of two weeks from the time of application.”
