A MEMBER of South African musical group, Mi Casa, says sharing the stage with the legendary Oliver Mtukudzi was one of the greatest moments in his life.
J’Something and his group were in Zimbabwe at the weekend for the Stanbic Bank Music Festival which was held at Thornpark Polo Grounds just outside Harare.
“This is my second time ever to be in Zimbabwe,” said J’Something.
“The last time l was here, l remember sharing the stage with a legend, Dr Oliver Mtukudzi.
“It was one of the most magical moments in my life to see how much he was loved and respected.
“That made me reflect on myself as well because I loved it. I will never forget being backstage with him and he shared so many wise words with me.
“I remember how my colleagues would ask me how it felt to meet such greatness.
“May his soul continue to rest in peace. We love him, he was a good friend of ours. May his legacy continue to shine.”
DJ Neptune of Nigeria won the hearts of Zimbabweans on Saturday at the Stanbic Bank Music Festival.
He made a grand entrance with Master H’s song ‘Better Margarine’.
Stepping onto the stage in all-black attire, which had a touch of a Zimbabwean flag on the shoulders, DJ Neptune’s second song was ‘Ndanyura’ by Killer T.
Controlling the decks for an hour, he treated the audience to a good show of hit songs from different countries.
The crowd’s enthusiastic response was a huge statement, with cheers echoing throughout the venue and creating an electric atmosphere.
Barefooted Feli Nandi also gave a good performance, something she appears to be doing all the time when she gets on stage.
Nutty O, who was performing for the first time at the festival, was in control of the crowd from start to finish during his slot.
The fans were impressed by his performance, which blended music and interactive art.
