since he made it big on the mainstream music scene.
Born Michael Madamombe in Marondera, the affable singer has wooed fans with his high-energy performances, which he exhibits with gusto.
“It is my first show in Marondera as Mic Inity and I’m honoured to give the people of Marondera a dose of what has made me what I am today,” Mic Inity said.
Dubbed “The Homecoming of Mic Inity – Serious Reggae Bash”, the gig scheduled for the Primus Rat ‘n’ Mouse promises fireworks as Mic Inity knows how to rock the crowd whenever he takes to the stage.
Marondera revellers will have every reason to smile when their “son of the soil” serenades them with soothing conscious rhythms and dancehall ditties just the way they like it.
While he has his own songs, the youthful artiste is also good when it comes to playing cover versions of popular reggae legends such as Gregory Isaacs, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
The reggae sensation has written his own piece of music history by becoming one of the most sought-after artistes in the genre at the moment.
So successful is Mic Inity that in October last year he toured Jamaica – the cradle of reggae music – where he met his Jamaican music producer Caveman of the Doncaster-based Caveman Studios, who helped him with his album.
During the visit, Mic Inity also had the opportunity to hook up with legendary reggae artiste, Sizzla Kalonji.
As a young boy Mic Inity grew up with a passion for reggae music.
He took after his father who was also an ardent follower of the music genre listening to the likes of the late Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
He later sang with Transit Crew before going solo and eventually forming his own band – Hotta Fire.
He commands a huge following especially in Harare and holds his live gigs at Mannenberg and Jazz 105 to mention just two.
Show organiser, Danmore Mutyambizi, described the gig as a must attend for all music lovers.
“This is one big show and fans should come in their numbers to see one of their sons in action. The last time we brought an artiste as big as Mic Inity was in 2010 when Winky D set Marondera ablaze with his high voltage lyrics.
“The tickets are reasonably priced because we want to support Mic Inity in every way we can.
“We would like music lovers from Marondera as well as surrounding areas to join us as we celebrate with one of our own,” Mutyambizi said.
He promised tight security and good sound quality at the show.
Mic Inity is also billed to perform at the Harare Interntional Festival of the Arts on april 30 at the 7 Arts theatre as the main act.
The concert is likely to expose the artiste to the international stage and propell him to dizzy heights.
