Chimuti shrugged off stiff competition from flamboyant Division One sides, ZBC and Pachedu who could not afford the $500 transfer fee put on the player and $150 as a signing on fee for the Form Two pupil.
The high school pupil burst into the limelight after he was named Player of the Tournament in March at the George Mitchell’s Clubs tournament in Shurugwi.
Simango has been one of the most consistent players in the league so far this season, winning 11 of the 15 games he has played.
Chimuti president, Kudakwashe Chimuti, confirmed signing Simango and added that they were tying up the loose ends of the deal.
“We have agreed terms with the player, the club and the parents of the youngster but there are a few issues which need to be sorted out.
“As for the scholarship, he will choose a school either in Shurugwi or Gweru,” said Chimuti.
Efforts to get a comment from Salaco vice- chairman, Evans Dube, who is the guardian of Simango in pool as the player’s mother assigned to him responsibility of the youngster were fruitless.
Meanwhile, the Division One has begun to take shape with the contentious race for the top four promotion tickets intensifying with MSU and Flames who are tied on 66 points threatening to make the league a two-horse race.
MSU humiliated Deno’s 10-1 to secure the top position while Flames edged lowly ranked Mhukahuru 7-4 in matches played over the weekend but the Mkoba-based side lie second because of an inferior frames difference.
Former Super League side, Mgaan’cha secured their position in the top four race after dismissing Southview 8-3 to remain on third position, nine points below the third placed Old BM who were inactive over the weekend.
