zanu-pf candidates in the Midlands Province are now raring to go and have vowed to launch a vigorous campaign in the run up to the July 30 harmonised elections to ensure a resounding victory for the revolutionary party. The candidates were on Saturday given the guidelines during the Midlands Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting in Gweru ahead of the nomination court on Thursday that would pave way for a full swing campaign. Only 11 of the sitting 26 zanu-pf Members of Parliament sailed through the primary elections.

Zanu-pf Midlands Spokesperson Cde Cornelius Mpereri said the candidates are fully prepared for the nominations court. Cde Mpereri also implored candidates to campaign for the President as they campaign for themselves to ensure that there is uniformity and that the party wins resoundingly in the elections.

“As Midlands Province we had our provincial elections directorate to enlighten our candidates on the requirements of the nomination court so that there are no hiccups on the day. Secondly, now that we are in the election mode our campaigns are almost in full swing so we took this opportunity to implore to our candidates to campaign for the President and campaign for themselves,” he said.

zanu-pf Midlands chair Engineer Daniel McKenzie Ncube said the candidates were now raring to go after the party confirmed them as its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

“All the candidates have expressed enthusiasm in representing the party in the forthcoming elections. They are raring to go. I have no doubt that with this charisma and unity within the party we will have a clean sweep in the province. We are definitely going to win all the parliamentary seats. ” he said.
