Mighty Bulls fined US$5 000

The PSL disciplinary committee, which was chaired by Don Moyo, Vusi Vuma and Brighton Mudzamiri sat on May 17 and 23 with Motor Action represented by its director Eric Rosen and vice-chairman Simeon Jamanda while Kenny Ndebele represented the PSL management.
Mighty Bulls were fined US$5 000, of which US$2 000 was suspended for the rest of the season, on condition that the club is not convicted of a similar offence.
The effective fine of US$3 000, together with the costs of the hearing, have to be paid by July 31.
The disciplinary committee announced Motor Action’ charge in terms of Order 31 of the PSL Rules and Regulations.
“It is an act of misconduct on the part of the club where; 31.1.8 “it fails to fulfil a fixture for which a date and venue has been fixed by the league”, — 31.1.9” it fails to comply with any lawful order or instruction made by the disciplinary committee, and official of the league and /match officials.
31.2.17” behaves in a manner which brings the league or any of its sponsors into disrepute or endangers the welfare of the league”, — In terms of Article 18.5 “clubs have no right or powers to change fixtures without the written approval of the league”.
The committee found out that CAPS United had abided by the order to play at Gwanzura and Motor Action had acted in rebellion.
The referees, the match commissioner and the police were all at Gwanzura.
The committee found out that Motor Action were determined not to play at Gwanzura and even dragged Zifa into the case. We are guided by the PSL Constitution, the Rules and Regulations, which give the PSL, through its CEO, the mandate to fix fixtures,” said the committee.
“Order 18 and Order 31 makes reference to the fact that every team shall be obliged to honour every league fixture as directed by the management committee/ league.
“There is evidence that the CEO liaised with the board member competitions.
“Furthermore, Order 16 makes it mandatory to register an alternative home ground. Motor action admitted and apologised for not having done so.”
