Power Masters, DC Academy clash

The Northern Region championship resumes this afternoon after it suspended the weekend games in support of the Warriors who beat Burundi 1-0 in a Nations Cup qualifier. Marume’s Power Master were the early pacesetters before surrendering the lead to ZPC Kariba.
Twelve games into the season, Power Master have fought their way back into contention and are sitting in third place with 22 points.
Last season the race was decided on the final day. Today Power Master face tricky opponents, DC Academy, at Hellenics and Marume is confident of getting back to winning ways.
“We have only played 12 games and there is still a lot to play for, we can’t start pressing the panic button as yet since there is no team that has run away from the leading pack.
“Of course, it is important to win matches at this point in time but talking of the championship is not very realistic.
“There is no team that has shown any signs of running away with the league, everyone in the top six is still in there with a chance.
“The gap between us and the top team is not that much so we just need to believe in ourselves and keep on collecting maximum points to stay in touch with other teams.
“Against DC Academy we are going to have the same approach just as in the previous games, we lost to Black Rhinos in our last match and there is need for us to lift ourselves up and start winning again,” said Marume.
Second placed Black Rhinos welcome Mwana Africa at One Commando.
Log leaders DStv visit Flame Lily at Chikurubi.
