THE Mighty Warriors who were initially supposed to go into camp on Friday finally managed to do so yesterday with new mentor Shadreck Mlauzi confident of a good showing away in Cameroon. The Zimbabwe women’s national team clash with their Cameroonian counterparts in the first leg tie of the fourth and final round of the 2016 Olympic Games qualifier in Yaoundé on Saturday.

Despite having only three days in camps, Mlauzi is confident that the women national soccer team will deliver a positive result ahead of the return leg in Harare two weeks after the first encounter.

The Mighty Warriors are expected to leave for West Africa on Wednesday. The Mighty Warriors, who are under a new technical set-up, will only have three training days as they trooped into camp yesterday although the initial plan was for the whole team to group on Friday.

However, the initial plan could not come to fruition as the football mother body, Zifa reportedly faced “logistical challenges”.
Mlauzi, who is also the former coach of Inline Academy, pointed out that although they will have a short period to work on combinations due to inadequate camping time, his team will come up with a side that will fight till the final whistle of the match.

However, Mlauzi admitted that playing away from home is never easy, adding that he will equip his players with the necessary information he had gathered from studying their opponents.
