Zimbabwe are the Unity Day Challenge Cup holders having beaten old enemies South Africa at the same venue last year.
On Saturday they will try to retain the title as they face the fresh challenge from the on the Female Zebras.
It will be the second meeting between Zimbabwe and Botswana this year with their first clash being in the African Cup of Nations qualifier in January which the Mighty Warriors won 3-1 on aggregate.
The Unity Cup Challenge was launched in 2010 and this will be the third edition.
The Mighty Warriors are leaving no stone unturned as they seek to defend their title and yesterday they conducted their training session under the watchful eye of assistant coach, Yohane Chikaola.
Chikaola said he is pleased with the progress they have made so far in their preparations.
“We got into camp on Sunday and our preparations are going on well, all the players are fit. Our league has just ended and the fitness levels are still high.
“There are also no injury worries and at the present moment what we are concentrating on more is moulding them to be compact from the defence, midfield and attack so we are trying to gel all the combinations,” said Chikaola.
Chikaola said the Super League has played a vital role in keeping the players competitive and most of them have improved their game.
“When the season ended it helped us so well because the league was competitive this year. Since we started our Super League for the women, it’s first of its kind.
“The girls are okay in terms of playing they have now improved a lot in terms of technical ability.
“They are able to play because from the teams they play for they also changed their attitudes because there was some incentive from Marange Resources, so it helped a lot. We don’t have much problems in terms of their game. We are just trying out combinations, how to combine the team that’s the biggest worry.
Chikaola said the girls are raring to go and it has become difficult for the coaches as the girls continue to improve.
“In the past it was easy to select but now everyone is raring to go so we are trying different combinations so that everybody will be satisfied in the technical team with the players we come up with,” said Chikaola.
Meanwhile Botswana were expected in the country late yesterday.
