Warriors arrived in Lusaka on Thursday evening and yesterday had a training session at the match venue.
The team, which last played a competitive match in March, would be battling for fitness and the former Kiglon coach believes this match will help them.
“The girls are not sharp and should benefit by playing these matches.
“Fitness-wise they are okay, but lack match fitness and we can attain that by having these matches more often.
“At least the girls have been getting some training at their clubs as the league is yet to start. We have done well in previous matches against Zambia but we are not going to bank on that.
“They are improving as a team and have been progressing very well, so we are not going to underrate them.
“These friendly matches have a lot of bearing on our Fifa rankings as this weekend and the next weekend are Fifa dates and if we win we will get some points.
“We want to be better ranked by the time the African Cup of Nations draw is conducted,” said Jongwe.
The head of the technical team also welcomed the return of the strike force pair of Rufaro Machingura and Rudo Neshamba.
In the absence of the duo, who missed the South America trip, Flame Lily forward Erina Jeke and Black Rhinos’ Rutendo Makore held fort.
Makore scored the opener when Zimbabwe beat Uruguay senior women’s soccer team while Jeke ran riot against the Uruguay developmental team, scoring four goals.
“Rudo and Rufaro are looking okay. Rudo was playing in Botswana while Rufaro has been training with her club.
“However, they have a big challenge, considering that the other players have been doing very well and competition has become stiffer. We will see who will make it into the team on Sunday,” said Jongwe.
Last year, the Mighty Warriors beat She-polopolo 2-1 here before they destroyed them 5-0 in Lusaka.
But the coaches are not letting the past results sway them and expect a tough afternoon from the Zambians tomorrow.
