Mighty Warriors win in Lusaka

in Lusaka yesterday.

Zambia have not beaten the Mighty Warriors in recent matches and yesterday they found the going tough once again.

According to reports from Lusaka, Zimbabwe found the opener in the first 10 minutes via skipper Felistas “Figo” Muzongondi.

The hosts then equalised through a penalty but Black Rhinos striker Rutendo Makore restored the visitors’ lead.

Mighty Warriors forward Rudo Neshamba then killed the match as a contest in the first half when she scored her side’s third goal.

Zimbabwe coach Rosemary Mugadza felt it was a good game as both teams traded blows.

“The game was okay but in the first 20 minutes we were lagging, maybe because of fitness levels. However, the second half was better although we could not score more goals,’’ Mugadza said.

The Mighty Warriros coach also said she had noted that Zambia were an improved opposition this time around.

“Zambia was a much improved side from last year’’s team. They have really improved,” said Mugadza.
