Mikasa executives jet in

THE top executives of Mikasa Corporation, a leading manufacturer of sporting balls, are in the country to explore business opportunities. Mikasa manufacture sports balls selling them universally and their director Yuji Saeki and general manager Noriaki Hirata arrived in the country yesterday for a three-day visit.
Hirata said they want to assess their field of interest and see if they can get any business opportunities here,

“We have just arrived here in Zimbabwe to watch the situation here about sport. We are manufacturers of sporting balls for basketball, volleyball, football and water polo, every kind of sport balls.

“So we want to see what we can do in Zimbabwe.

“We want to increase sales in Africa, including Zimbabwe. We are now beginning to love Africa. We want to feel something here during our stay,” said Hirata.

Their visit was facilitated by former top middle-distance runner, Brian Sheriff, who is now based in Japan and works for the company.

The two representatives are expected to meet Sports Commission director general, Charles Nhemachena, today.
