Artistes who featured on the night included DJs Mzoe, the reigning Miller DJ Battle winner, DJ Black Cee from tribal house quartet Djembe Monks, DJ Mellow from All Star DJs, DJ B-Rock, Brian Mellors and DJ Keezy among others.
The cast of seasoned DJs was supported by a host of young up-and-coming local DJs who also took the opportunity to showcase their skills.
The young DJs graced the stage from 3pm and showed a mastery of the decks as they played music from multiple genres.
While some were more adept at house music, others showed their skills in hip hop and reggae to the delight of revellers.
Some of the city’s seasoned DJs then came on for the night’s main attraction, dubbed the “Turn up the Night Party”.
Mzoe gave a display befitting his billing as one of the best DJs in the city, belting out hits that got people on the dance floor. Not to be left out was Black Cee who played tribal and deep house, including a few tracks from Djembe Monk’s debut release Deep Love And Drums.
Lucky revellers walked home with an assortment of prizes that included Miller cooler Bags, duffel bags, earphones, t-shirts and caps while there were special Miller give-aways at the entrance.
The party was part of the Miller music tour which will see two lucky winners going to America on an all-expenses paid trip to New York this year.
The promotion is open to people above the age of 21 and runs until the end of this month.
The two lucky winners will be in New York for five days from 7 to 11 June this year.
The tour is in its fifth year, but this is the first time for Miller Genuine Draft to run such a promotion in sub Saharan Africa.
This year, 19 countries are participating, with Zimbabwe and South Africa being the only African countries participating.
