A MILTON High School teacher who doubles as a Pentecostal pastor has appeared in court following allegations of sodomising pupils at the prestigious boys-only school.
Tyson Lunga, an Advanced Level commercials teacher and long-time Scripture Union patron, arrived at Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court for his initial remand amid whispers, gasps, and heavy security presence this morning.
Sources say Lunga preyed on vulnerable Form One and Form Two pupils, mainly new arrivals, luring them with burgers and cash to buy their silence after the alleged abuse.
So far, nine learners have bravely stepped forward, but insiders claim there could be many more victims still too scared to speak out.
Shockwaves continue to ripple through the school community, with parents, teachers and church members reeling over the allegations involving someone entrusted with both education and faith leadership.
More damning revelations expected…

I’m writing as a concerned alumnus of Milton High School regarding your recent article on the allegations against a former teacher. The situation is indeed tragic and deeply distressing, and my heart goes out to the victims and their families.
However, I feel it’s important to address the tone and language used in the headline. While I understand the gravity of the allegations, the use of sensational language and alliteration seems to shift the focus from the victims and the seriousness of the matter to creating shock value. It’s essential that journalism, especially in cases as sensitive as this, remains objective and respectful. The focus should be on the facts and the impact on the victims, rather than on creating sensational headlines.
I hope you’ll consider this feedback and continue to report on this matter with the sensitivity it deserves. Thank you for your time and understanding.
