Mine blasting damages Mhangura Hospital buildings

MAKONDE Christian Hospital in Mhangura was yesterday damaged by blasting that is being carried out by the Eastern Asia Mine at Mhangura Mines.

The blast left a trail of destruction at the hospital, including shattered window panes, cracked walls and ceilings.

The impact was also felt by residents in Mhangura town and farmers on neighbouring farms.

An emergency meeting has since been called by the Mhangura Town Board chairman Councillor Nixon Maguvaza today to map the way forward.
