Several mining companies taking part at Mine Entra are confident of clinching business deals during the exposition. Local and foreign companies are participating at the ongoing specialised exhibition run by the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company. Local and foreign exhibitors who spoke to The Chronicle this week said opportunities to clinch new business deals were high.
“We hope the expo will be a successful one at the end of the day. This is an opportunity to create business deals with some new customers especially in the mining sector,” said Brett Durham, the managing director of John Deere, a supplier of earth-moving mining equipment in Zimbabwe.
Shepco Industrial Supplies sales manager Innocent Mushayi, whose company specialises in supplying mining and engineering equipment, said the expo was one big event where suppliers and producers meet and discuss business opportunities and challenges.
“Coming to this kind of platform is one way of trying to find ways on how best we can adequately supply our customers.
“Most of the people in the mining and engineering sectors have interest in our products and we hope at the end of the trade show we can come up with win-win business deals,” said Mushayi.
Process Automation’s sales executive Shane Whittle said the expo will create a platform for them to sell and showcase their mining equipment among other engineering related products.
“The expo is growing bigger and better and it’s the reason we’re present every year. Most of our products are on demand more in Zimbabwe than in South Africa. We sell more of our mining equipment here than in any other country in Africa,” said Whittle.
Most of the companies from South Africa and China have expressed hope that that the market for mining equipment and products will continue to grow in Zimbabwe.
