BULAWAYO tennis star Minenhle Moyo has seen her tennis ranking drop in the last month.

The junior tennis star coached by Nqobilizwe Moyo and sparring with her Riverdale Academy schoolmate Akeelah Khanye, did not take in the two legged Maputo, Mozambique ITF J30 tournament. She missed an opportunity to get ranking points and that allowed her to drop from 1178 in the world to 1207.

On March 23, a tournament will serve off in Bulawayo as part of a two leg series.

She is now focused on taking part there and improving her points.

Moyo has a winning rate of 56 percent in her career. The 15-year-old star is among the best in the country among the Under-16s and 18s.

She said she has been working hard on some features of her game in the absence of international competition.

“I have been training hard. I have been working on my serve and net game,” said Moyo one of Bulawayo’s hopefuls for the forthcoming tournament.
