Miner killed over sadza dispute

A Shurugwi-based artisanal miner was fatally stabbed by a fellow miner following a dispute over sadza.

National police spokesman, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the fatal incident on the ZRP’s X handle.

“Police in Shurugwi arrested an artisanal miner, Nicholas Matanda (19), in connection with a murder case in which another artisanal miner, Tanaka Sithole (26), died on Sunday, two days after being stabbed in the armpit with a knife.

“The incident occurred at Dollar Farm, Flamingo Turn-off, following an argument over the sharing of sadza.”
