Miners for Economic Development (Miners4ED) have constructed a multi-purpose church in Alabama, Chakari.

The church, which was handed over to the Apostolic Faith Mission of the Holy Ghost, was officially commissioned yesterday and will not only serve as a place of worship but also as a centre for early childhood development, drug rehabilitation and skills training development.
It will also serve as an orphanage.
Miners4ED are also targeting to construct classroom blocks, clinics, and drill boreholes in the province. The development is in line with President Mnangagwa’s mantra, “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo”.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Cde Marian Chombo commended Miners4ED for promoting national development.
She also urged the miners to carry out safe and sustainable mining practices. Chakari legislator, Cde Oliver Nkani said the church is expected to contribute to the fight against drugs.
“Our children are caught up in the drug abuse scourge. This facility is expected to help fight the challenge,” he said.
“It is also going to work towards developing skills so that the youths can contribute towards economic development.” Archbishop Emmanuel Chindiya received the facility on behalf of his church and challenged congregants to pray for the President.
He said President Mnangagwa was ordained by God to lead Zimbabwe to economic prosperity.
Miners4ED provincial vice chairman, Cde Muchineripi Tsvanhu said apart from infrastructural development, his organisation, which has members in each province, is also working towards rehabilitating the areas they are mining in by planting trees.
