MASHONALAND West Provindial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo has commissioned a four-classroom block at Ruvimbo Primary School.
The block will ease learning space challenges at the school with an enrolment of 1 984 learners.
Minister Chombo hailed the collaboration between Chinhoyi Municipality, the School Development Committee (SDC) and parents.
“Through your commitment and tireless effort to build this classroom block at Ruvimbo Primary School you exhibited a shining beacon and envisaged our national development philosophy, “A nation is best built by its citizens, Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo, Ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikhazi balo”, she said.
“You successfully, clearly, protruded and emboldened National Development Strategy and Vision 2030 by this commendable initiative of continuously developing this school. By building this school classroom block you have directly encompassed loudly and vibrantly, the Vision of our President’s call for inclusive, and quality education for all to ensure no one and no place is left behind in terms of access and quality education provision.”

The block will decongest 45 classes that were learning outside, exposing learners to harsh weather conditions.
Furniture, including desks and chairs, steel cabinets have been purchased amid indication that more durnitur3 wqs needed.
“To learners, you are urged to utilize these educational facilities for the betterment of yourselves, take it as a clarion call to excel to greater heights in all spheres,” she said.
Chief Director (Provincial Education Services) Mr Edson Chauke said Government needed all stakeholders to help in improving access to quality education and facilities.
Chinhoyi Municipality town clerk Mr Biriat Tasarira said the Municipality would continue to support improvdd access to education.
“Despite this milestone, Chinhoyi still has a deficit of Schools. The opening of this block therefore part of ongoing efforts to meet the growing demand for educational facilities qnd ensure that everyone child has access to quality education,” said Mr Tasarira.
The Municipality operates eight schools, six primary and two secondary schools.
