MINISTER of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza this morning officially handed over Presidential tablets to 45 junior parliamentarians from the province.
He also handed over three robotics kits to selected schools.
The gadgets were donated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa during the official opening of the 34th Junior Parliament on July 8, 2026.
The gadgets were distributed under the theme: ‘Connecting Voices and Empowering People’.
The three robotics kits were donated by Techtrek International and awarded to St Noah High School, Nyatate High School and Chimbudzi Secondary School as part of efforts to promote innovation and industrialisation in schools.
Minister Mugadza said the handover demonstrates the 2nd Republic’s commitment to youth empowerment and digital learning in line with the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and Vision 2030.
“Use them (gadgets) to excel in your studies and to serve the well-being of your communities. You are leaders who must learn, grow and contribute to the development of Manicaland,” said Minister Mugadza, describing the junior parliamentarians as the voice of the voiceless and advocates for children’s rights, whose dedication to duty is admirable.
He urged them to embrace technology responsibly and to remain safe online, while connecting with the world.
Minister Mugadza encouraged the learners to support one another, collaborate and remain focused despite challenges.
Provincial chief director education services in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary, Mr Richard Gabaza, said the gadgets will enhance research and problem-solving skills.
“The Government under His Excellency, President Mnangagwa believes in innovation, industrialisation and information. These gadgets will assist learners in research, solving community problems and becoming informed citizens,” said Mr Gabaza.
