MINISTER MAHENDERE DRAWS FULL HOUSE IN LATEST UK SHOW

GOSPEL music continues to make waves with Minister Mahendere’s recent Messiah Tour stop in Bedford, UK, drawing a full house and leaving fans spiritually uplifted.

The show set the tone for another massive gospel event lined up for December — this time featuring South African legend Dr Rebecca Malope in Harare.

Both shows are being promoted by Grateful Events, a company that has become a driving force in taking Zimbabwean gospel music around the world.

Promoter John Makombe said he was humbled by the response and promised more shows of the same calibre.

“The Bedford show was a huge success. People came in their numbers and we are grateful to God for the support,” he said.

“Our aim as Grateful Events is to create a platform that brings gospel artists and audiences together – whether in Zimbabwe or abroad.

“We believe gospel music is a powerful tool to unite and uplift people.”

The Messiah Tour was part of Mahendere’s international tour, and the celebrated gospel artist delivered a soul-lifting performance.

Mahendere praised the organisers for their professionalism and passion.

“Working with Grateful Events has been an amazing experience,” he said.

“Their dedication to excellence and ministry is something special.

“We are continuing with the Messiah Tour in other countries as we build up to the ‘Outcry Concert’ this December.”

Though still relatively new in the business, Grateful Events has already worked with some of Zimbabwe’s top gospel acts, including The Cherayis, Takesure Zamar, and Blessing Jedthun, among others.

Many in the industry say Makombe has brought a fresh spirit to gospel entertainment, mixing creativity and organisation with strong faith-based values.

The firm is now gearing up for another major show — the Grateful Zimbabwe Experience, scheduled for December at the Harare International Conference Centre.

The show will be headlined by South African gospel queen, Rebecca Malope, supported by a powerful line-up of regional and local stars.

Makombe said the upcoming concert will be a celebration of unity, worship, and appreciation.

“We are excited to bring Dr Rebecca Malope to Zimbabwe,” he said.

“She is a true gospel icon and this show will be a way of giving thanks for what God has done this year.

“It’s also about connecting Zimbabweans with international artists in a way that strengthens the gospel industry.”

Many gospel fans have praised Grateful Events for providing a consistent platform that celebrates both established and emerging artists.

The company’s approach, focusing on quality production and spiritual impact, has made it one of the most talked-about promoters of 2025.

As the festive season draws near, Makombe said the vision is to continue building momentum.

“We are just getting started,” he said.

“We thank everyone who has supported Grateful Events from the beginning.

“Our mission is to make gratefulness a lifestyle through music, and with every event, we want people to experience God’s love and presence.”
