MICHAEL Mahendere has lauded US-based arts promoter, Bevan Makaka, as a blessing to local gospel musicians who is answering their calling to spread the word of God around the globe.
Mahendere said this following his second tour of the US where he held successful shows in Dallas, Texas, which was graced by the Zimbabwean Ambassador to the US, Tadeous Chifamba.
Both of his shows in the US were promoted by Xcelerate Enterprises, an events management company owned by Makaka.
“Oh, that man is such a blessing. If you would ask me to mention someone who is selfless, I would definitely speak of him.
“Our cry as artists is to always find people who support your dream in music and Xcelerate Enterprises is just that answer to our cry.
“Mr Bevan has not only been just a promoter to me but has become a friend and we are grateful for him.”
He said the tour had given him an opportunity to learn new things and discover and meet new people.
“This was our second time interacting with the lovely people from Harvest International Church in Dallas led by my dear brother, Pastor Emanuel Sundire.
“To us they have become an extension of our family, Mr Kahari of K&K consultancy is an amazing man as well, he took very good care of us.”
He attributed the success of the musical tour to God.
“Well, we say all Glory to God, He always follows us. It is heart-warming to see that no matter where we go, people are singing along to our songs and are seeking for the presence of God through music.”
