Women’s Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Minister Monica Mutsvangwa will this evening present a keynote speech at a session on accelerating women’s entrepreneurship development in Africa and de-risking the renewable energy viability gap in Africa.
This is being held ahead of the 79th United Nations General Assembly that begins tomorrow.
Key issues to be discussed include the need to enhance awareness of the role of women’s economic empowerment through entrepreneurship and the identification of mechanisms that de-risk investments in renewable energy.

Presenters include Zimbabwe’s Permanent representative to the UN Mr Tavonga Mushayavanhu, African Union Deputy Chairman Ms Monique Nsanzaba Ganwa and United Nations Development Programme Administrator Mr Achim Steiner.
Zesa executive chairman Dr Sydney Gata and the Zimbabwe Women in Mines and Mining Development Trust founder Ms Blessing Hungwe-Nharara will also attend.
