BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe – Minister of Defence Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri is set to preside over a crucial strategic planning workshop today, which commenced on Monday at a local hotel. The workshop aims to evaluate the performance of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) during the 2024 cycle and lay the groundwork for the upcoming year.

Before Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri delivers her keynote address, Bulawayo’s Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Judith Ncube, is scheduled to provide welcome remarks. The event underscores the Government’s commitment to enhancing the operational effectiveness of its military and aligns with the broader goals of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which is transitioning to the forthcoming NDS11.

This annual workshop is a key feature for all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) under the Second Republic, focusing on strategies to accelerate economic development. Notable attendees include Deputy Minister of Defence Retired Brigadier Levy Mayihlome and ZDF commander General Philip Valerio Sibanda, highlighting the significance of military leadership in the strategic planning process.
