“Bulawayo Hits Starlink Limit: Demand Outpaces Supply”

Bongani Ndlovu, Online Reporter
THE Bulawayo City Centre and surrounding areas have reached full capacity for Starlink devices, according to its website.
Two weeks ago, Harare reached capacity for the SpaceX product, and Bulawayo is now following suit, as it offers what users consider an affordable and fast internet connection.
If Starlink informs you that they are at capacity in your area, it means their network cannot accommodate any additional devices at that moment.
This means that one can place an order, but they will have to wait in a queue while capacity for the low-orbit satellites is increased.
When attempting to order Starlink in Bulawayo, residents of the city centre or surrounding areas will receive a message stating that full capacity has been reached.
“Starlink is at capacity in your area. Order now to reserve your Starlink. You will receive a notification once your Starlink is ready to ship. US$50/month for service and US$389 for hardware,” states the website.

According to Wozatel’s CTO, Mr Robert Ndlovu, demand for Starlink continues to grow. He noted on Facebook, “It seems that Starlink’s capacity in Bulawayo’s Central Business District (CBD) has reached its limit. Given this, it’s likely that areas like North End, Famona, and Khumalo could be the next to experience network congestion as demand for Starlink’s services continues to increase.”
Suburbs close to the Bulawayo City Centre, such as Bradfield, North End, Paddonhurst, Romany Park, and Famona, are among those affected.
However, high-density suburbs such as Mzilikazi, Makokoba, Thorngrove, and Nguboyenja near the city centre are not yet impacted.
