Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister Larry Mavima on Tuesday made an impromptu visit to the Provincial Registrar’s offices.
Minister Mavima caught the personnel by surprise as he stood in the queue observing the quality of service delivery.

He expressed concern about the quality service after learning that some people had spent two days in the queue waiting to be served.

The minister then called the Provincial Registrar, Ms Agnes Gambura who was on leave to come sort out the issue.
In an interview soon after the visit, Minister Mavima said he was very disappointed with the poor service delivery he had witnessed.

“I am very disappointed with what I saw today. There are people who came all the way from Mberengwa and slept here and they were still not served. They had to wait for two days. We need to change our attitude and ensure that we execute our mandate diligently.

President Mnangagwa has emphasised that we are a servant Government and our top priority is serving the people. We need to improve on service delivery as a Government,” fumed Minister Mavima.
Ms Gambura attributed the poor service to technical glitches.

“I am on leave but I had to come back today to see what the challenge was. I have been informed that our system was down and we are working tirelessly to fix the problem and ensure that we do not inconvenience people.
“Our system is now digital therefore all the operations are controlled electronically.

“I am confident that the system will be up soon and people will be served. We regret what happened and will do the best to provide quality service delivery,” she said.
