One of Bulawayo’s most sought-after gospel musicians, Takesure Ncube is in South Africa where he is rehearsing with Joyous Celebration ahead of their Joyous 19 live DVD recording on December 19 and 20. The Worship Addicts founder and lead singer will join fellow Zimbabweans, Mkhululi Bhebhe and Vocal Ex co-founder, Eric Moyo for the recording. Unlike Bhebhe who is permanently with Joyous, Moyo and Ncube will only be working with the outfit for the live recording.
Ncube, popularly known as Minister Zamar in music circles said he was ecstatic about featuring on Joyous Celebration’s 19th live recording.
“It’s an honour to be invited by a big group like Joyous Celebration to work with them. They have become the face of gospel music in Africa as they possess the most talented artistes on the continent,” he said.
The musician who has shared the stage with gospel greats like South Africa’s Benjamin Dube said he was grateful to one of Joyous’ founders Lindelani Mkize for identifying him.
“I met up with Lindelani Mkize when he came to Bulawayo for the Harvest House Clash of Choirs competition. He spotted me performing with Worship Addicts and loved my performance.
“That’s when he invited me to join their group for the live DVD recording,” said Ncube.
