Dancehall king Winky D (real name Wallace Chirumiko) and his Vigilance Band are set to introduce a new act when they perform at Horizon Pub and Grill on Saturday evening. The Ninja President, as he is affectionately known, will share the stage with Judgement Yard’s DJ Flevah, Bulawayo’s up-and-coming hip hop artiste Calvin of the Bebengakholwa hit and local DJs Skubby, Crazy Black and Trust.

Winky D who last performed in Bulawayo in April has often left revellers asking for more as he has been consistent with his performances.

Speaking ahead of their performance, his manager, Jonathan Banda said fans were in for a rare treat.

“There’s a surprise act which Winky D is preparing for fans in Bulawayo. The Vigilance Band is already looking at the future of music instrumentation so fans should prepare to see a set they’ve never seen before,” Banda said.

He added that Winky D would also perform his new singles such as Magafa which features Souljah Love and Dancehall Igwe.

Show organiser, Mduduzi Mdlongwa of 3D events said the Musarove Biggie Man hit-maker would be the last Zimdancehall act to perform at their venue this year.

“Our club has been hosting dancehall artistes for the greater part of the year so we decided to end the year in style with a performance by the best dancehall musician, Winky D,” Mdlongwa said.

He said after Winky D’s show, they would revert to hosting house music acts for the festive season as plans were underway to bring in South African artistes.

“We’ve already paid the artistes and are just waiting for clearance from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and immigration. Once that’s done, we will reveal the names of the artistes,” Mdlongwa said.
