Ministry reconfigured

THE Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare has been reconfigured to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, with the civil service now falling under the Office of the President and  Cabinet (OPC), Information, Media and Broadcasting Services secretary Mr George Charamba has said.

In a statement, Mr Charamba said every media house should be guided by the new development.

“Media organisations are reminded that the old Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare has been reconfigured to Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare.

“The civil service now falls under the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) and that includes all public service training institutions and the Zimbabwe Institute for Public Administration,” he said.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently appointed Ms Petronella Kagonye to head the Labour and Social Welfare ministry taking over from former Minister Patrick Zhuwao who was recently expelled from both Government and Zanu-PF.
