MINOR (12) CAUGHT STEALING

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was nabbed trying to steal from a Warren Park house on Tuesday evening.

The minor was apprehended and confessed to that he had been sent by some older people to steal from the house.

The victim, only identified as Emmanuel, said he was lucky that he caught the boy before losing any property.

“I apprehended the 12-year-old in my house and he confessed that he had been sent by older people.

“He said he is from Kuwadzana and named the people who sent him.

“My door was not locked, so they thought there was no one inside since I stay alone.

Ndamubata on his way to the sitting room and we took him to the police. 

“He also divulged the names of the older people he steals with, and areas from which they steal,” said Emmanuel.

“He said he started working with older thieves when he was in Grade 3 and he is now in Grade 6.

“They move in groups of four to six and the older ones keep a distance monitoring.”

In a video recording of the boy, he said:

“I don’t even know where I am. 

“We have been to two houses in Warren Park and we stole US$30.

“I lied that I was not with them.”
