Minter claims Manicaland strokeplay championship

The top golfer got the better of 45 other golfers who took part in the 36-hole competition. Minter also won the 2011 Zambia Ladies Golf Union championship. And she showed that she was just top of her class with a gross score of 157 while her Chapman Golf Club clubmate Aulia Alfazema carded 174 after the two rounds for the runners-up position. The A division of the tournament saw Christine Moore winning on a gross score of

172 while Jean McKenzie was second on a gross score of 176.
Warren Hills Golf Club’s Constance Mashiri was the B Division winner after she grossed 198 to beat runner-up Sandra Bennett on 199.
The ZLGU public relations officer Helen van Rensberg was impressed with the turnout and expects the up-and-coming tournaments to be more competitive.

“There was a good turnout of 45 ladies, 17 of whom were from Chapman Golf Club in Harare.
“The tournament went on well and was a success,” van Rensburg said.

Meanwhile the Chipembere golf safari have announced the postponement of this year’s edition of the annual Lowveld Golf Day. The tournament was moved to make way for the Nyaradzo Group golf tournament to be held at the same venue.
“We have moved the Lowveld Golf Day to Friday the 8th of July at Triangle Golf Club. The venues has not changed but we just moved the day,” said a Chipembere newsletter.
