The Miss Earth finals will take place at the Versailles Palace in Alabang and the new Miss Earth will be crowned from a bevy of almost 96 delegates from across the globe. The winner will succeed Ecuador’s Olga Alava, last year’s winner.
Markou who has so far amassed 56 points in the pre-judging session ahead of the finals set for today scooped the Miss Compassion title earlier this week.

The Miss Earth Zimbabwe foundation is designed to draw attention to environmental issues and to encourage all Zimbabweans to embrace the idea of actively seeking ways to clean up the environment.
These include conserving energy at home and at work, reducing wastage of water and electricity, recycling, and re-using.
This year’s edition of the environment-driven global beauty pageant has been made more exciting by subsidiary competitions and challenges that award medals and corresponding points to the top three placers of each competition.
The points will be tallied and will be a determining factor as to who will make it to the first cut of 16 semi-finalists tonight.
In keeping with the theme of International Year of Sustainable Energy, the Miss Earth 2012 delegates visited renewable energy sites in the Philippines.
