ADORABLE Brenda Ndemera shrugged off stiff competition from five contestants who walked on the romp to clinch the coveted Miss Mandisa 2015 crown in a tightly-contested beauty pageant held last Friday at the popular entertainment centre.
Ndembera outshone crowd favourite, Melody Moyo who was crowned first princess and second princess Lizzy Nyika.
Ndembera walked away with $100 and food hampers while Moyo and Nyika walked away with $50 and $30 and food hampers respectively.
Local artistes Charlie Nyz and the new-look dance ensemble, Mandisa Queens and Kings provided entertainment during the contest.
Considering the hype that preceded the contest, the second edition of the pageant lived up to expectations with organisers describing it as better than last year’s.
The question and answer segment, however, proved tricky to some of the contestants.
In an interview, the buoyant Ndembera said she was ready to be the ambassador of the leisure centre.
“I feel so happy. It was not easy but I was confident that I would win. I am going to play a critical role in making sure that Club Mandisa remains a preferred entertainment centre in Mutare,” she said.
The pageant organiser and club proprietor, Boniface Nyamanhindi, said: “We hope to hold such successful pageants this year such as the maiden Miss Valentine’s in February. We would to thank everyone who participated in the contest.”
