In an emotional and heartfelt message, the newly crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, Nomqhele Sisa Nkomo expressed her deepest gratitude to her family, friends, mentors, and community for their unwavering support throughout her journey.
The Miss Tourism Zimbabwe first runner-up was Tadiwa Mtetwa and the second runner-up was Kudzaishe Chimedza.
With a crown symbolising not just beauty but also culture, purpose, and national pride, she vowed to use her platform to promote Zimbabwe’s tourism, culture and green future.
In an interview, Sisa also acknowledged her fellow contestants, describing them as intelligent, passionate, and beautiful, and highlighting the importance of sisterhood and unity.
“To my fellow contestants, it was an honour to share the stage with such intelligent, passionate, and beautiful queens. You each inspired me and reminded me why sisterhood and unity matter most.
“I will carry forward the mission of promoting Zimbabwe’s tourism, culture and green future, one step at a time.
“As Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2025, I commit to using this crown to tell our story, one of heritage, hope and healing,” she said.
As a first-year journalism student at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Sisa is also a talented designer and spoken word poet, a creative blend that sets her apart.
Over the years, Sisa has refined her craft, competing in poetry slams and performing at various events. Her talent was recognised last year with the Outstanding Poet award at the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards (Praca).
“Winning the Praca was surreal. It validated all the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my craft. It reminded me that my words have the power to impact others. That’s a responsibility I take seriously, and it drives me to keep creating poetry that is honest, raw, and relatable,” she said.
As Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2025, she is committed to telling the story of Zimbabwe’s heritage, hope and healing, one step at a time.
With a sense of responsibility and purpose, she promised to carry forward the mission of promoting the country’s tourism and culture, inspiring a sense of national pride and unity.
