Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, Nomqhele Sisa Nkomo, has received US$4 000 to prepare for Miss Tourism International scheduled for Malaysia next month.

The money, sponsored by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, Tongai Mnangagwa, will go towards Nkomo’s travel expenses, wardrobe and preparations.

Nkomo has a passion for climate advocacy and sustainable tourism, which is deeply rooted in her creative background.

In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Nkomo said: “I am truly honoured and grateful for the support from Deputy Minister Tongai Mnangagwa. This sponsorship is not just a contribution to my journey, but a powerful endorsement of the vision to showcase Zimbabwe on the global stage.

“It motivates me to work even harder, knowing that my country believes in me and is invested in the story I will carry to the Miss Tourism International pageant. For me, this support represents more than preparation, it symbolises unity, confidence, and national pride.”

“My goal is to highlight Zimbabwe as a nation rich in heritage, warm hospitality and breathtaking destinations. I want to share the story of a country where tradition and modernity beautifully coexist, and where every visitor leaves with a piece of our warmth and resilience.

“On the international stage, I plan to embody this spirit through my presence, my cultural showcases, and my advocacy for sustainable tourism. By presenting Zimbabwe as both a cultural treasure and a thriving tourism destination, I hope to inspire curiosity, admiration, and a renewed interest in visiting our beautiful nation.”
